DICTIONARY

Where are the word definitions, examples, and pronunciations from?

The word details come from a mix of sources. Some are reputable and widely-recognized publishers known for their comprehensive language research and academic credibility. Sources are frequently consulted by both educators and language learners.

Why don't I get search results for certain words?

Some words don't show results because they are slang words, uncommon acronyms, or words with vulgar meanings not found in standard dictionaries. If nothing comes up, refresh to check other sources.

I noticed an error in one of the words. What should I do?

We strive for accurate results but cannot guarantee it. Occasional errors may occur. Tap "!" on the top right within word details to contact support and report errors. Attach a screenshot if possible.

Can the daily Word of the Day be adapted / personalized to my skill / knowledge?

At this time, you cannot adjust the Word of the Day to your skill or knowledge. You can expect personalized word of the day in a future update. See upcoming features here: www.vocabulistapp.com/features.

GAMES

How do practice modes differ from daily challenges?

Practice modes adapt to your skill level and let you play unlimited times, while daily challenges are the same for all users that day.

When is the daily game released each day?

The daily game is released each day at midnight.

The timer is too fast. Can I change it?

You can adjust the timer (up to 1 minute) in settings.

I want to be able to set the difficulty of the daily game, can I?

If the daily game words are too easy or too difficult, you can use the practice mode which will adapt to your skill level, or use the favorites mode if you only want specific words. At this time, you cannot set the difficulty level of the game. You can expect to see this in a future update.

PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTION

What features are included in the subscription?

The subscription includes unlimited searches, unlimited favorites, complete archives access, unlimited daily games, personalized practice games, advanced stats, and daily notifications.

How do I manage my subscription?

Go to Settings and tap "Subscription Status" to view and manage your subscription details. You can also manage it in your device's appstore subscription page.

What features are included for free?

The free version has limited daily searches (resets everyday), limited favorites, and access to daily games (no access to practice).

Why did I hit the paywall while searching?

The free version has limited daily searches but it resets everyday, so you can search again for free next day until you hit the limit. If you want more daily searches, subscribe to Vocabulist+ subscription.

I like Vocabulist, but I am a student and cannot afford the subscription. Can you give me a discount?

From your student email address ending in .edu, email [email protected], and we will provide you a student discount if still discounts are still available.

I have an issue with subscription. What should I do?

To manage or cancel your subscription, go to settings and click "Subsciption Status", then click "Manage Subscription" and use Apple's subscription page to manage.

I still have issues even after using "Manage Subscriptions". What should I do?

I want a refund. What should I do?

Refunds and all subscriptions are handled by Apple's AppStore payment system. Contact Apple customer support. If you are still unable to figure it out, contact us at [email protected] and we will do our best to support you.
